  1. I'm used to seeing Orio scared. I'm used to seeing Orio sad. I'm NOT used to seeing Orio angry for three pages straight. It's just bizarre.

  2. I really love your comic, and I hope you don't mind comps, but it has a sort of Haibane Renmai / Angel's Egg feel to it in terms of how atmospheric and beautiful it is. And I like the direction you're taking Orio, it gives her more depth of character. Looking forward to more, and can't wait to buy the second volume when it comes out in print!

    1. Hello and thank you!
And I don't mind the Haibane Renmai comparison at all. (I get it a lot actually. And it suits me just fine.)

      Thank you for reading!

  3. One thing I've been wondering, why do the orderlies have strings and apparently no odds? Is it just to distinguish them from citizens or is there a special function/purpose to the strings and the odds?

    1. Orderlies have strings because puppets seemed to me the toy most suited for governing outfits. (A broad, stereotypical, and sometimes unfair generalization, I grant you.)

As for having no Odds. For me, the Odds represented a familial bond, since the Citizens weren't granted an immediate family by any other means. The presence of an Odd (personalized to each Citizen) helps facilitate socialization and growth for a Citizen as a family would in the same capacity.

Orderlies, however, do have a familial body. As their strings restrict their movements and keep them mostly in the government facilities, they are almost always in contact with one another and view each other as their family members. Or as near a concept as they can grasp.

That was probably more explanation than necessary...
