  1. Hey, do you get a lot of traffic here? I usually don't see to many comments, but I was just wondering if a lot of people know about this awesome comic. It's really so well drawn and the story is amazing. I cannot get enough of it.

    1. I get a comfortable amount of traffic.

I know that blogspot is not a format many people participate in so that makes it somewhat difficult for others to engage. I do post the pages to my tumblr (meredithmcclare.tumblr.com) as well so people are aware of its existence.

Plus, I should have some big news next month that will potentially widen the audience range.
But until then I can't say much.

Thank you for reading though! I'm glad you enjoy!

    4. I, for one, truly enjoy the comic. It's a fresh concept, and the artwork is original and fantastic. The only complaint I have (other than the semi-sporadic updates) is that the pacing of the story is very slow. It seems like it takes alot of pages to complete an action/scene, and in some cases, it's still difficult to understand what is actually happening. But overall, I enjoy this comic and keep coming back to it every week.

    5. Yes, I noticed that too recently (I'm same person as the 2 anonymous comments). When I first started reading a few months back, the story was awesome to move through. However, the nature of webcomics is the incremental distribution. Some have much more dialogue, but I realize the best part of this comic is both the story and the amazingly drawn visuals. It really wouldn't be right without them. It would be nice to see a little more story per update, though. It becomes difficult to keep a continuous thread in your head sometimes when a release is more of a half-step. All in all, I love it though.

    6. I get your frustrations.

Storytelling thru comics is still an art in which I have a great deal more to learn and develop. And unfortunately, HINGES has always been a project in which I know I am primarily making a book, and sharing it as a webcomic as a means to acquire interest in that printed finish line (as well as to keep my progress steady).

It's final product is the format in which I hold the most priority. This is occasionally, I fully admit, to the detriment of the webcomic experience.

But I do appreciate that the comic is loved and enjoyed by those that read it. And I hope to continue earning that kind regard.

    7. For art of this caliber, I'm willing to go back a few pages and click through to understand what is going on. Do you have any idea when you will be putting together your book? One year? Five? If you use a kickstarter or indiegogo, I will definitely be supporting you!

    8. BOOK 1 was printed via a Kickstarter campaign.

I still have many copies available for purchase, I just don't have an active online store at the moment (I've been traveling abroad and was unable to ship orders.)

I'll be heading home soon and once I've settled I'll reactivate the store and HINGES BOOK 1 sales. Watch the little space underneath each comic page for the next couple of weeks. I'll announce the store's reactivation there and provide links so you can find it.

BOOK 2 will be done with the closing of this current chapter. From there I'll probably have to take some time off and figure out how to proceed with printing prospects. I should have some idea whether or not I'm going back to Kickstarter by early next year. (Kickstarter was very good to me, but there are external factors that warrant consideration before I go back to a crowdfunding platform.)

Altogether there will be 3 books total. I reckon the series will be finished somewhere around late 2016/early 2017. Conservative guess.

      Thank you for the support!
      ^_^

  3. I love the speed of the story...it's so well drawn and written that all those pausing and thoughtful moments really make it, and make you connect with the characters and the story. Plus the longer it takes to read, the longer before it ends!

I came to this from the ImageComics site, and couldn't stop reading it! Will be buying the hardback :) And can't wait to buy Book 2!
